Image Entertainment, Inc. is an integrated home entertainment company, primarily engaged in the business of acquiring and distributing entertainment programming.  Image acquires exclusive programming from third parties, and also designs and produces additional content and value-added features such as interactive menus, packaging and marketing materials for its DVD releases.

Image’s business strategy is to pursue, secure and exploit exclusive rights to content on a variety of formats and platforms, including DVD, Blu-ray Disc®, digital (video-on-demand, electronic sell-through and streaming), broadcast television, cable, satellite, theatrical and non-theatrical exploitation.  Rights acquired by Image on an individual title basis will vary as to format rights acquired.

Titles released by Image are from a broad spectrum of genres such as feature films, comedy, music concerts, urban, theatre, documentaries, theatrical catalogue films, independent films, foreign films, youth culture/lifestyle, television, and gospel. 

In addition, Image acquires exclusive rights to audio content for distribution via digital platforms and on CD. This content is from a variety of genres and configurations, including albums, compilation CDs, stand-up comedy programs, Broadway original cast recordings and audio recordings from live concert event DVDs.

Image continually works to grow a stream of revenue by maintaining and building a library of titles that can be exploited in a variety of formats and distribution channels. The Company’s active library currently contains approximately 3,200 exclusive DVD titles, 340 CD titles, digital rights to more than 2,000 video programs and over 300 audio titles containing more than 5,100 individual tracks. Image also has sublicense agreements to distribute approximately 600 programs internationally through sublicense agreements with Universal International Music, Digital Site, Warner Vision and others.

Each month, Image releases an average of 25 new exclusive DVD releases, including an average of five feature films, 10-15 exclusive digital video titles and three exclusive CD and digital audio titles.

Image has extremely solid relationships with major retailers and distribution and rental customers including: Wal-Mart, Blockbuster, Target, Amazon.com, Best Buy, Costco, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Netflix, Alliance Entertainment, Baker & Taylor, DVD Play, E1 Entertainment, Family Video Hastings, Infinity Resources (Critics’ Choice Video), Ingram Entertainment, Movie Gallery (including Hollywood Video), Redbox, Video Warehouse and VPD.
